I placed an order yesterday and opted for express next day delivery (paid the premium price for next day delivery; order was placed well in advance of the 1pm cut off for next day delivery). I've received an email mid afternoon today (on the day my order should have arrived) saying order has been processed, but UPS haven't yet received it. Rang Birkenstock customer service who confirmed delay was their own fault, and that I won't receive my order today - they can't tell me WHEN I will receive it. The items were to wear during a weekend away, so I now have the inconvenience of organising alternative delivery via UPS (because I'll be away the next couple of days, and I can't claim the delivery premium back, as well as a refund, until delivery has been attempted). I also have the inconvenience of a trip into town to buy substitute items. Absolutely awful - Birkenstock shouldnt be advertising (and taking the money for!) a premium delivery service if they can't honour it.
Website states delivery 3-6 days
Rang after 6 days they have no idea when this will be delivered.
I say I will cancel - UK allows 14 day cooling off and Birkenstock's policy states cancel within 14 days (which they sent with the order confirmation)
I cannot cancel!
Hopeless.
If current situation causes delays, fine, but change your delivery parameters on your website. Its not rocket science!

My complaint morrors others here. Returned an item a month ago and no refund. Tracker showed goods received April 24. First response from Birkenstocks was to ask me to be latent, second was to blame slow return on Brexit. I cant see how to offer a reciew on their own website which shows the returns and refund process rated as outstanding. Thanks for the prompt to chase with my bank i will now do so. I love their gods, they are not cheap but their approach to customer service certainly is.
No refund after 1 month. Wish I'd read reviews before ordering.
I received my order without any issue, but had to return a few items.
Returns tracking shows they received my return to their UK warehouse on 13th April but they haven't refunded. I've emailed 3 times and phoned once, each time I'm asked what items I've returned and I am assured I'll get an email to confirm my return and refund... but then this doesnt ever materialise.
This is not a cheap company and I expected far better qualilty service. I'm out of pocket by over 200 pounds, even though I know my return has been received to their UK warehouse.
I contacted my bank today and they will be raising a dispute over the transaction. I would urge other people experiencing the same issue to do the same.
I placed an order online last night and the website crashed and said 'the order could not be placed'. I didn't receive a confirmation email but the money was still taken from my account. So I placed the order again, this time it went through and I received a confirmation email. I emailed customer services straight away asking about a refund for the first order because the funds had been taken. This morning I called customer services as well, and was told that both orders have been processed already and I can't cancel one of them (even though I never received a confirmation email for the first order) and the only way I can now sort this out is to receive both orders and then return them in my own time. To be honest after this experience I will be returning both pairs of shoes and ordering from a more professional and reliable company.
I ordered some sandals for my wife. They were expected to be delivered today in the UK, but they have not even left Germany! No explanation given as to why they have not been despatched despite the promise of 2-4 day delivery and delivery by today.
I placed an order on 15th March for a pair of mules stated it would be delivered 2-4 days, didn’t arrive, checked tracking it said it had been shipped but when I contacted customer service they said they hadn’t shipped, they would launch an investigation into what happened and it could take a week! I then asked for a refund and was told someone would contact me within 48 hours, why they couldn’t do it there and then I don’t know! Still waiting on a phone call.

Update: the company called me to make this situation right, this was of course after I posted a review on BBB - they claimed that they never received any emails for me and that sometimes messages get lost in their system. Either way they offered to make things right and I was very pleased and honestly surprised by their willingness to help. Although I do wish I didn't have to write a review in order to get a solution. Either way it's pretty awesome that the company is making an effort to correct things.
I purchased shoes are directly from Birkenstock.com I thought that was my best bet to get the product directly from the company. The product that I purchased was the classic Birkenstock with Sterling fur on the inside. This was supposed to be a gift and when it arrived with something white and crusty on both heels I'm absolutely mortified. I reached out to the company directly emailing them and emailing them through their website and was ignored both times. I'm actually really shocked at how poorly their customer service is handling Customer issues. I would have never expected them to ignore a problem. I will never be ordering from the website directly in the future forever again, I definitely do not recommend you go to their site to purchase anything. I still don't know what that disgusting crusty white stuff was on both shoes but I had to use Lysol to remove it. Because my present was opened in front of the recipient they also saw everything and felt very badly about the awkward situation. Also considering that we are facing a pandemic receiving shoes that have clearly been either worn or tried on or touched by somebody else that left a stain on it is disgusting and very concerning.
Less than 1 star. Had to threaten legal action with 'notice before action' before refund was eventually received. It took 3 months for refund eventually to be made.

I recently ordered online & the size was incorrect.
I returned the item and have still not received a refund. All I get back from Custer service is they are too busy to respond? I just want my
Money back so I can order another pair in a different size? Please respond?
I’ve had the same problem as the previous reviewer. Payment failed twice but I check my bank account and I’ve been double charged. I’ve emailed customer services so hopefully this can get resolved.
Update: I called Birkenstock customer service the next morning and the assistant was very responsive. As the transactions weren’t authorised, I’m told the payments will automatically be refunded within days.
Birkenstock is a great store for men, women and children's shoes. They have a wide variety of hard to find sizes to fit everyone.
